This winter, Methodist Healthcare is scheduled to welcome its newest addition to its maternity services: The Germantown Women’s & Children’s Pavilion. The Pavilion, located at Methodist Le Bonheur Germantown Hospital, will provide room for 100 additional patients, 600 more parking spaces and 24 private NICU rooms for parents and their newborns.
Construction on the Pavilion began in May 2008 and is expected to be completed by February 2010. Throughout the building process, the hospital has made a concerted effort to “go green” by recycling construction waste, planting drought-resistant vegetation to reduce water use, and using regional materials within a 500-mile radius to save on transportation fuel.
This expansion will complement Methodist’s current maternity offerings which include labor and delivery services, Board-certified neonatologists, a Level III NICU (neonatal intensive care unit), prenatal education and childbirth classes.
